About Us
It was in 2004 when Claire and Dave returned to Perthshire after stints of working on the Shetland Isles and then Reading, England, that Claire found soap making was an enjoyable hobby to see through the dark winter nights in Scotland. As with many hobbies, it grew and grew...into a full-time business.
Late 2006 Claire and Dave got married and went on the most wonderful Honeymoon to Svalbard (at the top of the world - only 828 miles from the North Pole) then through several Scandinavian countries on the return leg of the journey. It was while sitting in a hotel bedroom in Kemi, Finland (waiting to go Ice Swimming in the Gulf of Bothnia) that Claire realised that she didn't want to go back to working in an office - ever again!

June 2007 saw Claire relaunch Barony Crafts as her full time employment... and it's been a rollercoaster ride all the way to today, but she's loving every minute of it.
At the end of 2010 we decided it was time for a change (spending fewer weekends at craft fairs) and stopped making soap. Working in an office was still not an option so Claire turned to her other passion, (no not her husband) fabric!
So the soap workshop has become a fabric workshop but the passion for creative ideas, great customer service and a bit of fun is still the same.
