Late 2006 Claire and Dave got married and went on the most wonderful Honeymoon to Svalbard (at the top of the world - only 300 miles from the North Pole) then through several Scandinavian countries on the return leg of the journey. It was while sitting in a hotel bedroom in Kemi, Finland (waiting to go Ice Swimming in the Gulf of Bothnia) that Claire realised that she didn't want to go back to working in an office - ever again!

June 2007 saw Claire relaunch Barony Crafts as her full time employment... and it's been a rollercoaster ride all the way to today, but she's loving every minute of it.
About Our Products
Using local produce and the Scottish scenery to inspire, Barony create luscious and fragrant toiletries. Many of the herbs we include in our toiletries are grown in our cottage garden and all our gift boxes are handmade right here at Barony.

All Barony handmade products are Paraben free and vegetable based. None of our products are tested on animals. Everything we do is in small batches and therefore fresh. When we need to make rosemary soap, we go to the garden and pick the rosemary. It’s that fresh. Our aim is to provide you with products which look and smell great, simply to make you feel special when you use them. Oh, and they're great at getting yer bod superdooper clean too!
Barony Soap: Barony handcrafted soaps are vegetable based glycerine soap. We use only high quality essential oils, cosmetic grade fragrances and many food grade additions. The glycerine content in our soaps ensure that you skin is left moisturised unlike supermarket soap which extract the glycerine to give the bar a longer shelf life (surely this is just madness?removing the best part of the bar)
Barony Organic Soap: All oils used in this range of soaps are organic and ethically sources as well as the essential oils used to scent them (no cosmetic fragrances in this range). This range is also SLS free and is extra gentle to extra sensitive skin.
Bath Fizz: It’s bath-time fun with these little fizzers! Drop one in a warm bath and watch it fizzle, releasing its scent. Main ingredients are Bicarbonate of Soda and Citric Acid.
Shower Gel: Paraben & SLS free shower gel. Slightly runnier than chemical packed standard gel but works really well. Contains Alkyl Glucosides and Alkyl Polyglucosides which are 'green' surfactants made entirely from coconut oil and sugar, which are renewable and natural.
Bath Melts: Scented cocoa butter and sweet almond oil cubes for extra moisture. Pop one in the bath and let the oils do their stuff.
Hand & Body Lotion: A lovely cream rich in borage known to soothe dry, itchy skin. It’s also packed full of chamomile, lavender, ginseng and comfrey oils too.
Lip Balm: Shea butter, sunflower oil, bees wax, cocoa butter and calendula oils are mixed together then finished with lip smacking flavours. (no petroleum derivatives).
Shea Butter: Becoming a firm favourite with Barony customers is this little tin of miracles (Containing 100% Pure Shea Butter).Use anywhere to soothe skin. These handy tins fit in your pocket or handbag easily and therefore always available when you need it.
Natural Soy Candles: Our Natural Soy Candles are created with pure, 100% natural soybeans from renewable resources. We only add high quality essential oils or cosmetic grade fragrances to compliment our soap ranges. They burn crisper and cleaner than petroleum candles and are therefore healthier as they produce less soot and burn 50% longer than normal candles.
Gift Boxes: Our gift boxes are handcrafted here at Barony from sustainable wood and are complemented with our signature chocolate brown ribbon and gift tag. Containing 4 Barony soaps of your choice or let us choose for you.
